Creating affordable housing while mentoring young adults in Waynesboro City, Augusta and Nelson Counties, Virginia

Senior Moving by The Waynesboro Project

The Waynesboro Project, through its sponsor, DBM Enterprises, Inc., is offering its services to help anyone, especially seniors, who are thinking about downsizing and simplifying their lifestyles but don't know where to start as they plan a move from a home that is larger and harder to maintain than they now need.

Are you dreaming of a better, easier life in a smaller home, apartment, or space in a senior living facility or retirement community? Do you want to sell your current home and rent or buy a smaller, more affordable place with less maintenance and expense putting an unnecessary burden on your finances? We have decades of experience with great references helping folks just like you accomplish your goals for a simpler, more enjoyable lifestyle during your retirement years.

Have you talked with a Realtor or two about selling your current home and been told that you must do this and that to repair, refresh, and upgrade your current home to bring a higher sales price, but don't want to have to supervise all that work yourself? We can help you with that as well, and we are well experienced with that type of assistance. In fact, we just this month (August 2018) finished a job in Florida doing exactly that. After discussion with the home owner/seller and her Realtor, we were hired to help downsize the homeowner's furniture and other "stuff" to fit in the new smaller home she was buying, make all the necessary repairs and paint the home to bring it up to higher standards for a better sale price, and then move her to her new quarters. After moving, we also unpacked and set up the new house with everything she was bringing from the old home. the result was a very smooth and stress-free transition from the huge old home into the new, more efficient and smaller home where she was very comfortable.

What did we do with all the "stuff" she was not going to be taken with her to her new home? We helped her distribute some of it to her friends and other family members that appreciated getting it. Some was sold to the new buyers of her old home, and some was taken to several consignment shops as she requested. Anything remaining was then donated to Goodwill and the Salvation Army as she directed. We can help you the same way we helped her and numerous others these last twenty or so years.

If you would like to discuss how we can help you accomplish a smooth and stress-free move, please send me an e-mail with your name and telephone number and I will call you at whatever time is convenient for you, or give me a call at 540-946-8292. If you try to call me, it is unlikely that I will answer a call coming in from a number that doesn't identify itself or that I don't recognize due to the huge number of telephone scammers calling these days. But, not to worry. You can just leave me a message if I don't answer with your name and phone number and I'll return your call as soon as I can. I can promise you that we will do an excellent job at a very reasonable price to help you achieve your goals. Your complete satisfaction is guaranteed.

If you just want to downsize and move and don't want to be bothered with fixing up your home for sale, we may be able to buy your home as is for a reasonable price instead of the ridiculously discounted price an investor would offer, and then fix it up to create an affordable home for someone who is not as fortunate as you may have been. That would fit right into our goal of creating some affordable housing for disadvantaged folks in our area. That would be a win-win-win situation for everyone! You would get a decent price quickly for your home, we would be able to create some affordable housing, which is our non-profit goal, and some lucky less fortunate family would be able to have a decent home. What could be better than that?
